Welcome to the heart of my blog. Hummus.
This entire page is solely dedicated to hummus. And yes, I sell hummus! Some of the best Hummus in YYC, with unique flavors that you can’t get anywhere else. I take pride in this high quality, nutritional dip. And I sell Labneh as well. What’s Labneh? A traditional Middle Eastern dip. Both are healthy, both are delicious.
The flavors speak so loudly, I had to let these guys introduce themselves. Here they are, with a little blurb on each one. Enjoy!
“Hello, I’m Hummus. I was born in Egypt but now am famous world wide. I’m a nutritious dip made with just a few fresh ingredients. My best friend is Pita Chip, and every vegetable I get along with well. I come from a #glutenfree #dairyfree #vegan family. I’m dusted with some cayenne pepper to give my personality a kick. I’m loaded with fibre, iron, folate, protein and more. Oh and yes, I am delicious.”
INGREDIENTS: CHICKPEAS, GARLIC, LEMON, OLIVE OIL, SALT, TAHINI, WATER
“Hello, I am Labney. Some know me as #labneh. My first cousin is greek yogurt, our only difference is I’m better and tastier. I hit the gym so have a way higher protein density. #welift Calcium, protein and phosphorus is what I’m filled with. I’m low in fat and carbs and filled with goodness. Hummus and I share a mutual best friend, Pita. But I do go better with pita when in the oven. Spread me on toast, bagels or crackers and side me with cucumbers, tomatoes and green things and I do great!”
INGREDIENTS: MILK, SALT, PLAIN YOGURT

What’s Your Flavor?
Original Hummus
The original hummus is a dish like no other. What makes MotherMayiBake’s hummus unique? Despite the fact that this hummus recipe is 100 years old, I use minimal ingredients for this wholesome dish. The simple quality ingredients are precisely measured and combined to create optimal flavor. You can taste the history in each bite.
Real. Fresh. Ingredients.
Each chick pea is warmed to the perfect temperature to create a creamy, smooth texture, exciting your pallet like no other. It’s not just hummus; it’s history, it’s culture, it’s savory.
Simply said, it’s perfect.
I have created, and perfected a few different flavors of this wholesome dish, but they're all based on this amazingly simple, traditional recipe!
Baked Falafel Hummus
This one is my FAV. I’m a falafel lover. For those who don’t know what a falafel is, it’s a vegan based sandwich loaded with fried patties made from chickpeas. The spice combination is incredible. It has some of the best, strongest spices incorporated together to account for an incredibly savoury sandwich. In Lebanon, you can pick up a falafel wrap for a few dollars at any restaurant. It’s delicious to the last bite! I’ve taken these aromatic spices and incorporated them into a delightful, delectable dip: Baked Falafel Hummus
Fav way to eat:
- pita chips
- pickles (dip right in!)
- Spread on pita bread with fresh parsley, tomatoes, pickled beets, and some tahini drizzled on top
- A BIG spoon OR In a wrap
Spicy Sriracha Hummus
If you like some heat, look no further. The Spicy hummus gives you a perfect kick in each bite. Loaded with some of the finest chillies and hot peppers, the smooth creaminess of hummus that you love intensified with a kick of spice. This one speaks for itself. Pick some up with a bottle of hydration!
Fav way to eat:
- SPOON
- Veggies (anything cool and refreshing)
- Pita Chips
- My personal fav, Jalapeño and Cheddar chips (for a HUGE spice kick)
Sweet Potato Hummus
Alright potato lovers, baked potato is one thing, but sweet baked potato is on a whole other level! The smell of fresh rosemary and spices as these orange beauties are roasting, and combined to create a rich, smooth, flavourful dip. The sweet potato hummus is a MUST try! You’ll be going back for more.
Fav way to eat:
- SPOON
- ANY Veggie
- Wraps
- Pita Chips
Roasted Beet Hummus
If you love beets, this dish is for you. It’s hummus amped up on all the benefits of beets. Not to mention, they are low in calories and a great source of nutrients, including fiber, folate and vitamins. Beets contain nitrates and pigments that aid in lowering blood pressure.
We’ve taken this vibrant colored root vegetable, spiced em, and roasted em, and made an incredibly loud, nutrient packed hummus. You’ll love this one!
Fav way to eat:
- SPOON
- Celery (love it with celery, the crunch combined with the beet is my fav)
- Pita Chips
Labneh
- Pita Chips - Dip right in!
- Spread on a bagel topped with lettuce, tomato and cucumber
- Basically anything you use cream cheese for
- Top it with Zataar - my fav spice
